We have worked together as colleagues and collaborators for the past four years, since completing our APA predoctoral internship together at Western Youth Services in Orange County, CA. Our styles and approaches are complementary and allow us to offer a holistic perspective in our assessments.
Dr. McConnell provides psychological assessment, therapy, and consultation for children, adolescents and their families. She completed her doctoral training at McGill University in Montreal. She has conducted a range of clinical services at multiple training sites, which include Boston Medical Center and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. Dr. McConnell has worked with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral issues, mood disorders, learning disabilities, eating disorders, developmental disabilities such as Autism, medical issues and those that have experienced trauma. She completed a research fellowship at Harvard, studying attachment and has particular expertise in both assessing and treating parent-child relationship difficulties. Dr. McConnell utilizes a variety of evidence-based techniques tailored to the child and family’s needs. She is passionate about working collaboratively with caregivers and her approach is strength-based and integrative.
